What Is Vitaran?

By Florence Goulbourne

Buzzing with excitement and anticipation, it’s an exciting time in the aesthetics industry for both patients and practitioners alike. As an influx of new technologies, products and protocols come to the market, the topic on everyone’s lips is seemingly surrounding polynucleotides. The polynucleotide industry is set to dominate skin rejuvenation treatments – bringing to the table incredible formulations and innovative regenerative properties. However, the focus isn’t solely on the overarching category of polynucleotides; it extends to the individual products within this sector too. Take VITARAN for example. The newest addition to our line-up, VITARAN harnesses the power of polynucleotides and has been celebrated for its rejuvenating abilities. But what is VITARAN and how can you introduce this injectable to your patients?

Introducing VITARAN

Exclusive to Fox Pharma, VITARAN is an injectable bio-revitaliser that is part of the polynucleotide family. Hailed as the latest innovation in aesthetics, VITARAN is a CE-marked injectable that helps with cellular stimulation and regeneration to repair the skins natural barrier. Derived from 100% filtered fragments of salmon DNA, VITARAN stimulates fibroblasts in the skin to aid in the synthesis of collagen and elastin for a rejuvenated appearance. From the beauty corner of the world, South Korea, VITARAN offers patients a natural solution to improve their skin and tissues on a deeper level and helps to prolong skin vitality and health.

With two products available in the range, VITARAN I and VITARAN II, these injectables are the world’s first, 100%, quality-controlled polynucleotides and are an amazing option for your patients to address a host of concerns. While both VITARAN I and VITARAN II share the same exceptional quality, they are specifically formulated for different areas of application. For example, VITARAN I is best suited for treating the delicate undereye area, while VITARAN II is best tailored for use on other facial regions and scars.

Doctor Tego, a Medical and Aesthetic expert said: “I’ve been trialling VITARAN in my clinic and I have been very pleased with the outcomes so far. Polynucleotides are an exciting, innovative treatment in the aesthetics field at the moment and have the potential to yield great results. I’m excited for the longer-term outcomes with VITARAN for my clients.”

What Are The Treatment Areas?

VITARAN is an exceptionally versatile product and can be used across multiple areas of the face and body. These injectables work to help cellular stimulation and regeneration to repair the skin’s natural barrier. As aforementioned, VITARAN I is best suited to treat the periorbital area and is indicated for the improvement of periocular wrinkles to help soften the signs of ageing. On the other hand, VITARAN II is best suited to treat the face, neck, hands, and chest, helping to rejuvenate and hydrate the injected area. VITARAN II can also be used for scar improvement.

Who Is The Ideal Candidate for VITARAN & Are There Any Contraindications?

Like many skin rejuvenating treatments, VITARAN can be used for a range of patients and a myriad of concerns. Working to improve skin firmness, texture, and tone, VITARAN is best suited to treat more mature skin and for patients showing early signs of ageing – perfect for patients 30 years of age and above. However, like most injectables, VITARAN has some contraindications that practitioners should be aware of for their patients. Contraindications include:

  • Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Patients under 18 years of age
  • Patients with an uncontrolled autoimmune disease
  • Patients with keloid scarring
  • Patients with a fish allergy

Treatment Protocol

For the practitioners keen to offer this injectable to their patients, it’s important to know how to work with this product. Two to three treatments of VITARAN are advised to achieve the desired results, three to four weeks apart. Annual maintenance top-ups are then required however it can take up to 2 weeks to see optimal results.

Nurse prescriber and aesthetic practitioner, Kirsten Horsfield recommends the following treatment protocol when working with VITARAN:

  • Eyes: 0.5ml per eye
  • Full face: 2 – 4ml per treatment
  • Neck and dĂ©colletĂ©: 2 – 4ml per session
  • Hands: 1 – 2ml per hand

It should be noted that while this is the recommended protocol, we advise practitioners to use the injection and treatment methods that they are most confident in or find they get the best results with. We offer a free VITARAN product training video when purchasing either of the products, led by Kirsten herself.

Do I Need Specific Training to Offer VITARAN?

You do need specific training in polynucleotides or skin boosters to offer VITARAN in your clinic.
